SUPER STOP & SHOP
Communication with neighboring residents was an integral part of the design process. Inside, catherdral ceiling spaces with clerestory windows allowing natural daylight in the front checkout area and helped reinforce the exterior architecture. the success of the project was the sense that the building was always there, blending with the surrounding architecture of the town.
The Stop & Shop project involved an addition and renovation of an existing supermarket in historical Lexington, Massachusetts. The architecture was subject to review by the local historical commission and planning board. The building had to project a historical feel without being a literal interpretation of local architecture.
